Health Agency, No New Report Within The Past 24 Hours, As NCDC Announces 443 New Confirmed Cases From 19 states Within The Nation
Nigeria has recorded 443 new COVID-19 cases, a development which has taken the country’s total infection tally to 45,687.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed this on its official twitter handle on Tuesday.
NCDC said that as of August, 7. 2020, 457 new confirmed cases and 6 deaths were recorded in the country.
The health agency added that no new state has reported a case in the past 24 hours.
According to it, till date, while 45,687 cases have been confirmed, 32,637 cases have been discharged and 936 deaths have been recorded in 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The health agency said that the 443 new cases were reported from 19 states thus – Plateau-103, Lagos-70, FCT-60, Ondo-35, Edo-27, Rivers-27, Kaduna-20, Osun-19, Borno-18, Oyo-18, Kwara-11, Adamawa-9.
Others are Nasarawa-7, Gombe-6, Bayelsa-4, Imo-4, Bauchi-2, Ogun-2, Kano-1.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has said that Nigerians stand the risk of increasing the rate of spreading the virus to their parents and the older population in the country if they fail to practice preventive behaviour.
“Do not put their lives in danger. #TakeResponsiblity to protect them – observe physical distancing, wear a face mask, and wash your hands frequently,” it advised.
