Covid-19: Nigeria Records 90 New Cases Bringing Total Number Of Infections To 56,478

Health Agency, No New Report Within The Past 24 Hours, As NCDC Announces 90 New Confirmed Cases From 11 states Within The Nation

Nigeria has recorded 90 new Covid-19 cases, a development which has taken the country’s total infection tally to 56,478.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed this on its official twitter handle on Tuesday.

NCDC said that as of September, 15. 2020, 90 new confirmed cases with 5 death were recorded in the country.

The health agency added that no new state has reported a case in the past 24 hours.

According to it, till date, while 56,478 cases have been confirmed, 44,430 cases have been discharged and 1,088 deaths have been recorded in 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The health agency said that the 90 new cases were reported from 11 states thus –Lagos-33, Plateau-27, Kaduna-17, Ogun-6, FCT-4, Anambra-1, Ekiti-1, Nasarawa-1.

Meanwhile, the NCDC has said that Nigerians stand the risk of increasing the rate of spreading the virus to their parents and the older population in the country if they fail to practice preventive behaviour.

“Do not put their lives in danger. #TakeResponsiblity to protect them – observe physical distancing, wear a face mask, and wash your hands frequently,” it advised.
